Thirty-three seniors graduated from Leesville Road High School on January 28, 2010 at the mid-year graduation ceremony.
The ceremony was made a little more special this year. The Leesville Road High School String Orchestra, directed my Mark Stiles, played “The Star Spangled Banner” and the processional. Later, Capital Pride, directed by Diane Covington, sang “Go and Find Your Dream” for the audience.
After the presentation of diplomas and closing speeches, the seniors were treated to a recessional and, unlike past year, were able to view a slideshow presentation created by the senior class advisors Julie Pennington and Elizabeth Tibbetts.
Jon McLendon was one of the seniors who decided to graduate early. “I had enough credits and I wanted to get a head start on life.”
Nykeemah White also decided to graduate early for similar reasons. “I refused to be here longer than I needed to and I only needed three classes. I think graduating early is beneficial because it allows you to start the rest of your life earlier than the rest.”
I think math competitions are amazing.
