On March 10, 2010, April Grossi was one of five WCPSS seniors to receive an Artists of Tomorrow scholarship, made available by the City of Raleigh Arts Commission.
After passing the application and interview processes, Grossi received $1000 to help pay for the college or university of her choice, which in her case is Elon University.
Grossi’s outstanding abilities in dance have received lots of attention over the years, from playing a significant role in Leesville’s Dance Ensemble for three years to earning her a spot at Governor’s School.
“The money isn’t even the most important part to me,” said Grossi. “What matters to me is that I am the dance representative for Wake County Public Schools arts. I am really big on dance education in public schools.”
After college, Grossi wants to dance and choreograph for Cirque du Soleil.
