Tamagotchi is better than ever

The L.I.F.E app supports color gaming, which is a major advancement from the previous keychain game. Currently the app is available for free on the Google Play store.

If you are a true ‘90s kid, you know what a Tamagotchi is. The small, egg shaped toy was a necessity to any cool kid’s repertoire. But now the teenagers with the hearts of tots can rejoice, as Tamagotchi released an Android app.

The app, Tamagotchi L.i.f.e., keeps true to the original keychain/game. There is still the small creature that you have to feed, entertain, keep comfortable, and yes, pick up its poop. If you don’t attend to the creature’s demands, which you are notified about by the same irritating noises used in the classic version, your pet will die, and you will have to start all over again raising a new one.

The Android version offers a few nifty upgrades that are better than the original game. The ability to have colorful pets and change the “case” designs are fun and pleasing to the eye, but the most advanced upgrade is the ability to make the game change to touch screen mode. This allows the user to have bigger buttons and more comfortable hand placement when playing games with their pet.

Another feature worth noting is being able to have families of pets. If you feed and nurture your pet enough, it will have a baby. The original pet and the baby can play and keep each other entertained so you don’t have to.

This app is a great escape from the monotony of everyday life. It runs on the same basis as the ever popular Farmville Facebook game, a way to kill time and feel like you are achieving something all at once.

For now, the game is only available on the Google Play market, but the Apple Store version is coming soon.

If you have an Android phone and want to have a nostalgic flashback, this app is definitely for you.
