The Office is a TV show that ran from 2005 to 2013. Its non-stop comedy and silly drama never got old. One can catch the 9 season show from NBC on Netflix. These are the reasons why it is the best show ever:
1. The Storyline
For a show as funny as The Office, the storyline is surprisingly good. It progresses forward, a far cry from most TV comedies in which things end up being the same at the end of the show. The story is about workers at Dunder Mifflin, a paper company in Scranton, Pennsylvania. You’ll see elaborate pranks, awkward humor, and a 9-season long lesson on the getting out of the friend zone, taught by Jim Halpert.
2. The Humor
It is a TV comedy after all, and the actors and show writers all gave award-winning performances. The Office has its own comedy that can best be described as awkward humor.n Very few shows can say they have such a diverse audience like The Office. The first scene of the first episode made me laugh, and the show never disappointed from there.
3. Steve Carell
Have you ever seen Steve Carell in anything not hilarious? The 40-Year-Old Virgin and Anchorman actor plays Michael Scott, the idiot boss who actually hinders the employees from working. He’s insensitive, but only from a hilarious ignorance. Throughout the show you’ll follow him on his quest for a wife and acceptance from his workers. The show was never the same after he left in the 7th season. Michael was funny when he tried to be serious, and inconsiderate when he tried to joke.
4. The Style
The documentary style of the show is unique, giving the show a successful alternative from sitcoms. Interviews from each cast member throughout each episode give each character their odd perspective of the occurring events. Much of the show’s humor comes from the character’s facial expressions, especially Jim Halpert.
5. Dwight Schrute
This is the most important reason for the show’s success. Dwight Schrute, played by Rainn Wilson, is the funniest character on the show. Many episodes start with him being victimized by elaborate and hilarious pranks from Jim. The German beet farmer is constantly in search of leadership and perhaps takes his paper salesman job too seriously. Dwight gives The Office its most unique character, and he can’t really be compared to any other TV character.
