A bigger and better bluegrass festival

Jim Lauderdale, an American country and bluegrass singer, performs onstage Saturday, October 4, at the City Plaza Stage. Lauderdale, born in North Carolina, is well-known and well-loved for his music, and even more famous for his songwriting abilities.

The Wide Open Bluegrass Festival, returning for the second time to Raleigh this year, ran from Oct. 3 – 4. Music lovers from all over the state came to experience a weekend of southern food, bluegrass music of all types and artisan crafts that were more than just nifty souvenirs.

Some of the acts in the video include The Malpass Brothers, Kids on Bluegrass, and Jim Lauderdale.
