Taylor Swift Concerts

Taylor Swift is a popular singer songwriter who is currently performing on her Eras Tour. This tour consists of 52 shows which began on March 17, 2023 and will continue until August 9, 2023.

She announced her tour on Good Morning America and social media platforms on November 1, 2022. This is her first tour in 5 years since her 2018 Reputation Tour.

Through Taylor Swift’s popularity she broke ticket sale records. 3.5 million people registered for Presale, on November 15, for the Eras Tour concerts, breaking past records. These numbers were never seen before by the Ticketmaster Verified Fan program, causing the system to crash.

Out of the 3.5 million pre-registered, Ticketmaster was able to sell 2 million tickets in one day, making it the most sold tickets for an artist in a single day.

“Based on the volume of traffic to our site, Taylor would need to perform over 900 stadium shows (almost 20x the number of shows she is doing),” said Ticketmaster. “That’s a stadium show every single night for the next 2.5 years.”

This tour received more attention than any other past Verified Fan event, including other popular concerts and sporting events.

“So, I’m going to take a wild guess and say that if you’re here tonight there’s a pretty good chance that you went through a considerable amount of effort to be with us tonight. Is that true?” Swift said on opening night of her tour, as a way to acknowledge her fans’ efforts to attend her concert.

The tour is a tribute to Swift’s discography across her 17-year career, the Eras Tour covers all styles of music from her 10 studio albums. Her music genres range from country and pop to folk and alternative rock genres.

Excluding her opener artists, Swift’s production is about 3 hours and 15 minutes with multiple outfit and set changes. The 44 song performance is divided into 10 acts, each act with specific sets, outfits and color schemes.

“She played so many songs and literally every song was a production, like backup dancers, costume changes and everyone’s bracelets were glowing all the time,” said Ashton Layh, junior who went to Swift’s second concert night in Tampa.

“I went to the April 29 concert in Atlanta. I loved the whole show. I liked how long it was and how she played songs from every single album,” said Kira Dugdell, sophomore.

10 Eras

Taylor Swift has been releasing music since she was only 16 years old, when she released her album titled Taylor Swift. Swift became admired as not only a rising country star but also an incredibly talented songwriter. This era was known as her country one, with cowboy boots and sundresses.

She continued to write and record her music, leading to the release of her 2nd album, Fearless, in 2008. This album went on to win 4 Grammys, including the largest honor, Album of the Year, at the Grammy Awards in 2010. This album’s era was casted through Swift’s sparkly outfits.

As Swift continued her music career she produced her 3rd album, Speak Now, in 2010. Throughout this album she began to experiment with a variety of sounds, more than just country music. This era was based around magic and the color purple.

In 2012 Taylor Swift released her iconic album Red. Naturally, the Red era has vibrant colors of red and vintage looks throughout her outfits.

The album 1989, released in 2014,  is the most awarded pop album of all time and earned Swift her second Album of the Year Grammy. This era became Swift’s official transition from country music into pop.

After Swift left the public eye for a year, she came back with a new album in 2017, Reputation. This album was a villain era for Taylro Swift, including dark lipstick, snake accents and black outfits.

In 2019, she released her 7th album, Lover. This era, much different than the previous, was centered around rainbows and bright pastel colors.

During Covid, Swift continued to write music and released her album Folklore, an alternative indie style of music. Once again, awarded with best Album of the Year, making her the first ever female to accomplish this.

Not even 5 months later, Swift released a similar album, Evermore, which continued the aesthetics of her Folklore album. These 2 eras centered around storytelling through her amazing songwriting.

In 2022 Swift released her 10th original studio album, Midnights. This was a return to pop music and included a 70’s take. This era is “a journey through terror and sweet dreams,” Swift wrote on Instagram.

Swift is now working on recreating and rereleasing her original albums. Taylor Swift‘s 17 year career is portrayed and emphasized through her talent and popularity at the Eras Tour.
