Leesville Men’s and Women’s Track team wins CAP 6 Conference 

For the first time in over 20 years the men’s and women’s bring home the conference champion title in track and field. Loyola women’s soccer commit Leah Carter also received Women’s Cap 6 athlete of the year award. 

At the Conference meet, more than 20 athletes from both the boys and girls teams raced, jumped, and threw to gather the most points for Leesville.

Dillon Kaulback also contributed significantly, accumulating 24 points across hurdles and jumps, highlighting his athletic abilities in multiple track and field events.

Chase Harrison secured an impressive 28 individual points in sprints, showcasing his speed and hard work on the track.

Leah Carter exhibited exceptional skill, earning 24 individual points split between hurdles and sprints, demonstrating her versatility and proficiency in both areas.

“It was great to be back on the track. I was satisfied with my performance and it was amazing to help the girls to their first CAP-6 championship in years. I’m honored and excited to have earned CAP-6 runner of the year,” said Carter, senior.

Together, these athletes demonstrated outstanding performance and contributed significantly to their team’s success in the meet.

Honorable mentions

Gabby Cueto also brought 18 individual points to the team in both the 400m and 200m events as a sophomore. Cueto’s hard work and dedication lead to expanding her team’s lead.  

Andre Michaels also demonstrated extreme courage by leading the 3200m for more than half the race and finishing 3rd, overall on the day Michaels had a total of 8 points for the team. 

Overall, The Leesville Road High School Track and field team had a great day making this the first time in over 20 years to win both the boys and girls conference titles and a 3-peat on the boys conference win.
