Leesville crowns new Homecoming King and Queen

Every year, a senior male and female are crowned as Homecoming Queen and Homecoming King at the homecoming football game.

Before homecoming week, students are nominated to the Homecoming Court by peers, progressing them to another round of voting before being officially invited to the court. Every year, two males and two females are on Homecoming Court from freshmen, sophomore, and junior classes, but seniors have six males and six females.

Out of the twelve senior participants, two are crowned at the homecoming game, determined by previous voting results.

Last Friday, Jaidee Hernandez and Sean Colbert-Lewis, Jr. were determined to win the 2024 homecoming court.

“I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to have been on [homecoming] court. I am honored to be Queen, although I think every girl deserves to win,” said Hernandez.

Hernandez has been on the Homecoming Court for two years and has been in the dance ensemble since sophomore year. Colbert-Lewis has been Homecoming Court all four years and is on the varsity cheer team.

“When I did court the first time in freshmen year, I did not go to football games that often, but then to go to the homecoming games was just so vibrant and exciting so, ever since then it became a core memory of high school,” said Colbert-Lewis.

Congratulations to everyone who made it on the 2024 Homecoming Court and Hernandez and Colbert-Lewis for winning!
