How are Leesville High School Students celebrating Halloween in 2024?

Halloween is on October 31. Some celebrate this holiday, dressing up in costumes or handing out candy to those who want it. Costumes can range anywhere from princesses and Toy Story, to clowns and ghosts.

Lincoln Gage, sophomore said, “Me and my friends are going to hang out and probably sleep over at my house, we were going to walk around during the night to see houses and costumes. “

Haunted houses can have jumpscares, people hiding in corners, loud sound effects, and rapid lights. All of these parts are a fun way to enjoy Halloween with your friends.

A popular theme is adding decorations to houses such as skeletons, graves, or spider webs. Decorations do not have to be scary, it’s a fun activity to carve pumpkins with friends or family and put them on the front porch.

“Last week, my family went to a pumpkin patch and came back to my house to carve faces on the pumpkins. It was a lot of fun and I put them on my porch for my friends to see,” said Jaden Bell, sophomore.

The school has Halloween-based events, too. One of them is called Boo Grams, where students can pay $2 for a note and a piece of candy to a person of choice. Sales happened from October 22 through 24 and was only sold before school and during both lunches.

“I think that the Boo Grams are a fun and easy way to make Halloween more fun. It’s not too much money, and it’s secret because you can send a note and a treat, they never know who it is which makes it more fun,” said Austin Ghunney, sophomore.

Before the night of Halloween on October 29 during 5-8 pm, there will be a Trick or Treat event that is held on the first floor of Leesville’s main building.

Halloween is a great way to get a sweet treat, and hang out with friends or family, and is always lots of fun.
