Leesville Rho Kappa is the National Social Studies Honor Society for juniors and seniors to recognize their academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to social studies. The club met for the first time in the 2024-2025 school year and will continue to meet on the third Thursday of each month. The club expects all members to attend all in-person meetings to continue to be members of the honor society.
This year’s advisors are Mr. Craddock and Mr. Vermette and the officers are Tyler Cataruzolo (president), Paxton Cruikshank (vice president), Cameron Broer (service/media chair), Jordaan Marina (secretary), and Ishika Verma (treasurer).
The advisors and officers work together to create monthly meetings and service opportunities. The first service opportunity sponsored by Rho Kappa will be a November door decorating event to honor National American Indian Heritage Month. Every month, members can create a historical presentation, poster, or infographic to receive one hour of service.
The first meeting covered the basic expectations of all club members, including service hour requirements, dues, and mandatory attendance policy. All members were asked to follow the Rho Kappa Instagram and join the reminder to stay updated on events and reminders.
Current juniors or sophomores who desire and are eligible to be in Rho Kappa must wait until the beginning of the 2025-2026 school year to apply.
