Leesville students can come together at Young life where they have the opportunity to share their own experiences and journeys with the Lord while also meeting new people, and making new friends. Young life offers a great opportunity for students to work in community alongside like-minded adults such as volunteer leaders, committee members, donors, and staff.
Jack Goatcher, freshman, said, “I joined Young Life to get closer with the people in the club, but I also did it because it’s a good way to get closer to God.”
Young Life helps lead students in sharing the news of Jesus, developing life skills and providing life changing opportunities. The club teaches students that these relationships don’t happen overnight, they take time, patience, trust and consistency.
Colby Swaine, junior, said, “Thursdays we do something called campaigners, where you go to somebody’s house, it’s bible study. But on other days there’s fun events, the other day we did color wars and manhunts at a park. It was fun.”
Young life takes place in different areas, ranging from parks, to camp sites,to shelters, or even at peoples homes.
Young Life is significant in shaping students’ walk with God and giving them the chance to create good experiences with other individuals that share similar interests and journeys with each other.
