Every teacher at Leesville offers something special to their students, whether it’s a distinctive teaching style, a collaborative atmosphere, or a constant smile on their face. Ms. Tabron, an English and the Yearbook teacher, brings all three.
Ms. Tabron has proudly taught students for fifteen years, ten of those years at Leesville. She currently teaches both English II and English IV and serves as the school’s Yearbook advisor. She expresses how she enjoys the unique character of each of her classes. An integral aspect of her classes is the ability to collaborate with peers and share a sense of autonomy with their learning.
Students often express their love for Ms. Tabron and her classes. “She’s an amazing teacher. I feel like I learn so much in her room. Her teaching style is very energetic. She lets us be ourselves in that classroom,” said Sawyer Cater, a sophomore.
One of her favorite parts of teaching is getting to know each of her students individually. “I like to learn about their hobbies and what they do outside of school. I love hearing anyone talk about something they are passionate about, and students have many passions and so much to teach me,” said Ms. Tabron.
She also has a strong passion for finding new ways of teaching her classes, often participating in learning walks and reading English Journals to gain new information on the topics she teaches.
Students admire the energy and enthusiasm she brings to her classes every day. “Ms. Tabron is so energetic and happy; she makes English class fun,” said Parker Booth, a sophomore.
Unsurprisingly, Ms. Tabron also won the “Best Smile” award during the school’s 2024 pep rally. She’s truly an amazing teacher for anyone who gets the opportunity to attend one of her classes.
