Leesville’s Mycenaean publishes its first print issue

The Mycenaean releases three print editions a year: winter, spring, and senior. As winter break approaches, so does the Mycenaean print distribution date.

Distribution of winter print will be on December 13 during second period and placed outside room 240 for students to enjoy.

For the past month, newspaper students dedicated themselves to brainstorming articles and multimedia projects to include in winter print.

A large focus in the newspaper, the double-truck, is about the transition back towards non-technical aspects of life that students may not realize.

For example, students have shifted from phone cameras to digital cameras, students continue to prefer to hold a paper book rather than utilizing a Kindle, or the popularity of journaling to express emotions.

The paper not only highlights the positive impact of reduced technology in students’ lives but also examines aspects of the community and school environment that students may fail to recognize.

Some of the new pages include a day trip to Durham, language variations throughout social settings, the presence of competition, and a page dedicated to teacher’s “do’s and don’ts.”

By working to create new and innovative topics, students see the school and their daily experiences from different perspectives.

To learn more about these interesting topics, look out for the winter print edition, starting December 13, for exclusive content.
