Thanksgiving occurred on Thursday, November 28, and, as always, brought many families together nationwide. How did Leesville students spend their thanksgiving holiday?
Leesville gave students days off for this holiday. The Thanksgiving break was Wednesday, November 27 through Friday, November 29.
Many students enjoyed this break, as it gave them a “5-day weekend.”
People spent time with family, and friends to enjoy the break. Some examples of Thanksgiving food include turkey, ham, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, mac n cheese, bread, and much more.
Ryan Garcia, sophomore, said, “I had family come over for lunch and dinner, we ate a lot of food and it was fun to see my family”.
Students could have spent the break however they chose. Some for example used this time to get ahead on school work or to complete missing work.
“I had missed a lot of days because of surgery, and after I spent time with my family, I did a lot of work for Civic Literacy and other classes,“ said Hudson Cresimore, sophomore.
People celebrate and experience thanksgiving in many ways. A common idea used throughout this break, however, was self-care. Students could have caught up on sleep, done homework, spent time with family and friends, or just rested in general.
