the Morrisville cars and coffee events

Morrisville Cars and Coffee is one of the best events for local car lovers. As the largest free car show on the East Coast, this monthly meet offers some of the area’s most unique cars from an avid and lively community.

The show occurs every first Saturday of the month between 7 am and 11 am and is at 5425 Page Road. It is spread across multiple parking lots around the area, with designated parking for VIP and themed vehicles usually located surrounding the Tri-Properties building.  The lower lot is focused more on people’s modified cars, giving visitors a different perspective of the car community.

Hours are spent wandering the numerous parking lots lined with both exotic and modded cars.  Other attractions including food trucks to car-related merchandise stands line the main lot, and of course, there are coffee shops as well. Starbucks and McDonalds are located across the main street, which are often hotspots for people to meet up at.  The meets organizers also stage different themes each month, with examples ranging from Ferrari’s to low-riders — as well as this past meets JDM focus.

This past December show brought a heavy focus on Christmastime. Many cars were wrapped in festive lights and holiday music was blasted from every corner of the meet.  The focus on a JDM theme also had dozens of exotic Japanese vehicles end up at the show.

The next meet takes place on January 1, and everyone is welcome to attend —  whether you’re new to the car community or just want a good place to connect with people who share a similar interest.  People looking to delve more into the automotive world will always have a chance to learn something new.  The meet can also provide great opportunities for car photographers looking to get shots of cars they wouldn’t have a chance to see anywhere else.

“I usually go around with my camera and take pictures… I look forward to it when I do decide to go, it’s fun to just take photos and look at people’s cars,” said Nathan Trendowicz, a Sophomore.

Being open to the public, the meeting also allows individuals to show off their own prized cars.  Modified cars are a huge part of the automotive world, letting people truly personalize their rides and take pride in what they drive.  The show welcomes any (albeit legal) vehicles, and anyone looking for crazy car builds is in for a treat.

An integral part of the show is the sense of community that it offers.  The meet often serves as the perfect place for people around the Raleigh area to share their passion for the automotive industry.

The show offers people a chance to both see their favourite cars and take pride in their own vehicles. “My favourite part about cars and coffee is the atmosphere of it, everyone is there for one purpose and it’s really cool to be able to see some cool cars,” said Max Farzanegan, a Junior.

The show’s “grand finale” always lines hundreds of people along Page Rd.  Cars roar by the street corner as they leave the meet, with modified exhausts often deafening the crowds.  Standing at the corner brings pure adrenaline to anyone watching, and the atmosphere is unmatched by anything else nearby. The showgrounds are only a 15-minute drive from Leesville.  For anyone with a desire to see some of the coolest cars in the triangle without breaking the bank, Morrisville Cars and Coffee may just be the best place.
