White shoes, once seen as a dad’s shoes, are now making a surprising comeback. From everyday street wear to appearances on the runway, the classic look of an all white pair of shoes has proven time and time again that it truly will never go out of style. 

The appeal of all white shoes lie in their classic and timeless look. The ability to match a single pair of shoes to almost any outfit shows the versatility of all white shoes. 

“I honestly think they never went out of style. I think they definitely had a decrease when dads started wearing the all white new balances but then I think they made a comeback when the Air Force ones by Nike got popular,” said Gabby Truax, sophomore. 

One reason people have started to like all white shoes again is because of the “quiet luxury” vibe they give off. Many people nowadays are gravitating towards understated but also high quality pieces focusing on craftsmanship over branding.

Another reason white shoes have made a comeback is because of their lower environmental impact. Making shoes all white reduces the dye needed to color them which in turn reduces their footprint on the environment. 

White shoes, although once seen as dad shoes, have now made a comeback proving their timeless style.
