Best places to go sledding in the Leesville area

On the 19 and 20 of February, Wake County is expecting around 6 inches of snow.

Schools will likely be closed, so it’s definitely THE time to grab a sled, find a hill, and go sledding.

“I will be going sledding whenever it snows,” said Yudhis Jordan, junior.

Most people can find a nice hill in their neighbourhood, but not all have them. If yours doesn’t or it seems a little too flat, don’t worry – Leesville students are here to help you out.

“[The best place to go sledding] in the Leesville area is on Lakeland Drive. There’s a hill behind a house and it’s super steep. You go down it and there’s a lake. There’s a chance you might go in the lake, though,” said Jordan.

“There’s one really steep street in my neighborhood, Sunnystone. We sled down it and hope that no cars come and run us over because it’s the main street. But it’s really steep and always super fun,” said Gretchen Bentley, junior.

“I’m definitely going sledding and there’s a huge hill that’s right by my house. [It’s called] Mountbatten Way, that’s my hill,” said Graham Banks, junior.

Sledding is a really fun snow day activity, but, for your safety, be cautious of these dangers: make sure the hill you are sledding on is clear of any vehicles and be extra careful while getting to the hill of your liking.
