If you like to fish, then go to a Fishing Club meeting on the last Friday of every month.
Fishing Club is new this year. It is for new fishermen who want to learn how to fish but also has activities for more experienced students who want to enhance their fishing knowledge.
Theo Frazer, Vice President, freshmen, said, “We’re good for all levels of experience. We’re good for beginners and people who have been fishing for a while.”
For being a new club there is already a big membership. “There’s about 25 people.” Said Frazer.
In Fishing Club, members can learn about different fish and lures. Members also take trips to ponds to fish together.
Wilson Cain, President, sophomore, said, “We talk about fishing, do fishing demonstrations, and we’re about to go to ponds to go fishing.”
Members confirm that the president and vice president have a lot of knowledge about fishing, so this is the place to go if you really want to learn.
Connor Gough, senior, said, “[The leaders] do know what they’re saying, so they’re actually teaching people how to fish.”
Members of the club love how laid-back fishing is and think it is a very easy activity to do in their free time.
Shryeas Lyengar, sophomore, said, “I think other people will also like [fishing] because it’s very easy to get into.”
There are also many different reasons people will join the club. Lyengar is in the club because it is fun whereas other members join to hang out with friends or get more fishing experience.
