Every year, Leesville chorus students lead a fundraiser by offering students the opportunity to purchase a song for a peer. This endearing gift could be for a girlfriend, boyfriend, teacher, friend, or colleague.
Chorus students diligently work to perfect their upcoming Valentine’s performances.
“We spend class period arranging and practicing Singing Valentines and then, on Valentine’s Day, we deliver them by singing to first and second-period classes,” said Emily Gagan, senior.
Students can purchase Valentines by scanning the QR code on flyers around the school. If students are paying cash, they must fill out the Valentine form from the QR codes and make cash payments in the cafeteria on February 4, 6, or 7. Each Valentine costs $4.
When purchased, the recipient will receive a chocolate bar and a song of the purchaser’s choice. The song options include:
- Count On Me by Bruno Mars
- Baby by Justin Bieber
- Be My Baby by The Ronettes
- What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction
- I Want It That Way by Backstreet Boys
- I Love You Baby by Frankie Valli
“The profit from Singing Valentines goes to the Leesville Chorus Performing Art Boosters,” said, Ms. Dickens, chorus teacher.
The booster group assists chorus students with their chorus-related activities and expenses. This includes purchasing music, tuning pianos, competition fees, etc.
Before time runs out, be sure to buy your Singing Valentine for your special someone!
