Leesville Road High School offers students the chance to give back through service clubs like Key Club and Leesville Liaisons. These clubs focus on volunteering, leadership, and helping both the school and the community.
Key Club members take part in food drives, charity fundraisers, and local events.
“Key Club is a great way to meet people while making a difference, there are so many ways to help, whether it’s organizing donations, volunteering at events, or leading projects. It feels good knowing that even small efforts can have a big impact on the community. Seeing the results of our work is really rewarding, and it encourages me to keep doing more,” said Ian Sharp, sophomore.
Leesville Liaisons focuses on school events and outreach. Members help new students adjust and assist with activities.
“Leesville Liaisons is all about making our school feel welcoming. We help with open houses, guide students who are new, and make sure events run smoothly. When I first started at Leesville, I was nervous, so I know how important it is to have people who are willing to help. Being part of this club lets me give back and help others feel more comfortable,” said Chloe Yates, sophomore.
Many students join service clubs to gain experience and connect with others.
“I love Key Club because it helps me grow as a leader. It’s not just about getting service hours. It teaches you how to work with a team, plan events, and make a real impact. I’ve learned so much about responsibility and teamwork, and I know these skills will help me in the future,” said Emily Dombeck, sophomore.
Students interested in joining can attend meetings at the start of the school year. More information is available on https://lrhskeyclub.weebly.com/ or from club leaders.
