The 2025 spring season has begun at Leesville Road High School. The flowers are blooming and the sky is clear. However, that’s not what it looks like everyday.
Spring season is known for its bipolar weather. One day you’re in shorts, the next you need a hoodie or umbrella. It’s warm, then it’s windy, then suddenly it’s raining sideways. This mix of beauty is what makes spring so… spring.
Alyssa Joseph, sophomore, said, “I love how everything looks in spring, but I never know what to wear.”
This type of quick-change weather is typical for North Carolina in the spring. Temperatures swing between the 50s and 80s, and surprise thunderstorms are just part of the routine. Still, students are making the most of it.
Tahj Melvin, sophomore, said, “Even with the crazy weather, I’d take spring over winter any day. I kind of like the rain too. It’s relaxing.”
For others, the mood lift from more sunlight and longer days is the real benefit. Students spend more time outside and teachers open windows. The air feels lighter — both literally and emotionally.
Spring at Leesville may be unpredictable, but it’s never boring.
