What is the best bathroom on campus?

Leesville’s bathroom issues first started in May of 2023, and two years later, they still haven’t been fixed. It all first started in the summer before the 2022-23 school year when the new fire alarms were installed. They were brand new and very sensitive to all the vaping that was occurring in the bathrooms, leading to the fire alarm getting set off several times a day for weeks.

Now we have less vaping fire alarms, but a consequence of all these alarms is that half of the school bathrooms were closed, and marked off. Now two years later we still have only half the bathrooms still. There are bathrooms I’ve been in before, and the closure of the bathrooms causes lines to form, decreased cleanliness, and a more crowded bathroom. It’s barbaric that they still haven’t opened the bathrooms. So let’s talk about the best bathrooms, and remember the bathrooms that were closed.

Downstairs main:

This bathroom would get 3 out of 5 stars. Honestly, no bathrooms at this school would go above a four star rating. For scale a one star or zero star rating would be a filthy bathroom, two stars would be similar to a mall bathroom, and a five would be like Bucees. Anything in between is in between those two and can be up for interpretation. Note that these reviews are all from the female perspective.

Downstairs main is alright and is usable. However, it isn’t the most clean, so it can be three out of five stars. At certain times of the day, it can be busy, but mostly there are just stalls that kids just sit in or the doors don’t work.

Upstairs main:

These are probably the third worst bathrooms in the school — they are always crowded, a door is always broken. As well, the cleanliness is definitely below par. I would avoid these at all times because of how they are so unfunctional.

Downstairs and upstairs murphy:

I feel as though I can group these two together because they’re so similar. These are by far the best bathrooms in the school. Overall they are clean, they often aren’t too crowded. There is almost never a line, and there is plenty of space.

Trailers:

First, watch out for roaches. They are just alright, nothing more than that. The trailers are always neglected, and their conditions aren’t the best. These would only get one out of five stars for all the times I’ve seen a roach.

Locker Room bathrooms:

These are by far the worst bathrooms at school. The doors are janky; it’s almost rarely clean. Honestly I don’t know how people use those. I wouldn’t touch those if I could. The toilet paper in there has been out many times, too.

Art hall bathrooms:

I’ve been told by actors and tech crew that these bathrooms are superior to all in the school. However I disagree. I think these bathrooms are four out of five stars. These bathrooms are nice but they aren’t anything particular to write home about. While it’s nice to use them when it’s not being swarmed by the tech kids, I wouldn’t recommend using them in the afternoon when the tech kids are practicing.

Bathrooms by the guidance counselor’s office:

These are the second worst bathrooms at school. I wouldn’t go in there during the school day, I always see people vaping in there and just standing and doing nothing. The line is always long and the bathroom is okay cleanliness wise. It’s always crowded at class changes and has been a hot spot for setting off fire alarms.

Honorable mention:

One of the best bathrooms that is now closed due to the rise of smoke alarms occurring from there is the Murphy Buliding basement.
