Doodle 4 Google is a competition where Google invites kids of all ages to use their artistic talent to decorate the Google homepage logo. Google says, “we believe in thinking big and dreaming big, so this year we’re inviting U.S. kids to exercise their creative imaginations…” This year’s theme is “If I Could Do Anything, I Would…”
The judges, called “Expert Jurors,” are well-known illustrators, cartoonists, and animators from organizations like the Sesame Street Workshop. Doodles are in four age categories: kindergarten through third grade, fourth grade through sixth grade, seventh grade through ninth grade, and tenth grade through twelfth grade.
In order for students to get involved, they must get their schools’ help. A school can submit up to six entries, along with a completed entry form and consent form for each.
Participants must submit their doodles on a white, landscape 8.5” x 11” inch paper in pencil, crayons, felt tip or paint, or can be done using computer drawing or design software.
Registration closes at 11:59:59 p.m. Pacific Time on March 24, 2010, and entries are due by March 31, 2010 no later than 11:59:59 p.m. All entries must sent to Doodle 4 Google – 2010,
P.O. Box 408, Elmsford, New York 10523-0408.
The winning doodle will be on the Google.com homepage on May 27, 2010.
