About Leesville’s FCA

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a club that meets to talk about Jesus and how students can share their Christian beliefs with others through sports.

Speakers come to the meetings from churches around the area such as Summit Church, which has multiple locations around the Triangle area. Local people from the FCA Association have come to speak as well.

The first meeting of the year involved going over basic things about the club and what is planned for this year, such as the speakers for the year from different churches and FCA associations. The club will meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the month in school during SMART Lunch A.

FCA also meets at different officer’s houses the first and third Monday of every month.  Meetings at the officer’s houses consist of a small discussion relating to a story from the Bible and singing some songs of worship.

There is a lot of interest in the club-the room was packed with 60-70 students.

Sam Timmons, a junior at Leesville, is on the executive officer team that helps to run FCA. “I’ve been a member of FCA since freshman year, and it’s great to now be part of the group that helps run the club,” Timmons said.

The presidents of the club this year are Drew Hickland and Caleb Petty.  Both students are very involved with school activities and look to continue the success of the club.
