Leesville Road High School Automotive Club

Clubs are offered throughout the school, acting as places for students to express themselves through their hobbies.  The automotive club is a fairly new offering at Leesville, serving as a place for anyone interested in cars to share their passion with others.

The Leesville Automotive Club is hosted once every 3 weeks, Thursday after school. The club hosts meetings in Mr. Sinor’s classroom and hosted its interest meeting on September 26th.

The club is utilized as a collaborative meeting space for anyone interested in Motorsport, Mechanic Work, and everything related to cars. All students with a passion for Cars are invited with open arms to join the club. Anyone interested in bringing their car to the club is invited. Rules applying to driving on school grounds must be followed, such as speed limits and reckless driving regulations.

Henry Casseta, the club president, is working towards including more activities and opportunities for club members.  “Last year, if you attended you would have noticed that we mostly just sat around in the parking lot… this year I’m gonna try and get people out to motorsports events, get people with cool cars to visit the parking lot, maybe get some Formula Student people from NC state to show up and talk to us,” said Casseta, junior.

The club was widely enjoyed by many students last year. Dozens of students with their own unique and modified cars would attend to show off and educate other club members about what they drive. “We would all gather in the Leesville parking lot, and a couple people would bring their sporty cars. We would talk about the cars and other stuff surrounding Automobiles,”  said Tyler Griffin, sophomore.

Meetings are hosted every third Tuesday of the month, anyone with a love for cars should give this awesome club a try.
