Leesville’s Homecoming game and dance was on Friday, October 5, 2024. The dance happened late after the 7:00 PM football game against Sanderson. The dance lasted until 11:30 at night.
On the Saturday after the game and the following week, students dressed formally and went with friends to take pictures, pictures could be taken at dinner or at parks or gardens.
“My favorite part was the pictures and the afterparty. Every year, we should get together and have a chance to remember what happened,” said Rayan Alami, sophomore.
Alami went to WRAL Azalea Gardens on Saturday, October 6 with his friends. The garden offered a nice background for pictures.
Homecoming events are a way to socialize with friends or family and to have fun. Meeting new people and seeing old friends helps make connections stronger than before.
“Homecoming brings people together, and I think it’s great that the school does it. Going to dinner and eating is always the best part,” said Connor Lilley, sophomore.
Lilley went to his homecoming dinner at The Big Easy and got dessert at Goodberry’s Frozen Custard after.
“People should go to homecoming because it’s fun, and it’s a good high school experience,” said Ellie Verhaeghe, a sophomore.
Verhaeghe went to the Carolina Inn and ate dinner there. Hotels are a common place for students to take pictures due to the unique decor hotels have inside.
High school is a one-time experience, and students should try to make it last while they can. Homecoming is a way to make it last.
