Mrs. Moenning returnS after maternity leave

Mrs. Moenning, a U.S. history and Holocaust and Genocide teacher at Leesville Road High School is now back from maternity leave. During her leave of absence, a long term substitute teacher managed and taught her class, but the students are happy to have her back.

Moenning, known for her fun and engaging classes, is eager to hop right back on the teaching train. “I’m excited to be back at Leesville where I have great friends as colleagues and I get to teach some of the best high schoolers ever! I’m so hype!” said Moenning.

To make her transition smooth back to teaching, she builds off of what the long term sub has already taught. This smooth transition back into teaching also shows her students the importance of balancing their personal and work lives.

Many students who were anticipating her engaging teaching style are finally able to see her impact on students in the classroom. “I’m so excited that Mrs. Moenning is back. I’m glad I get to see her in the hallways again since she has been out for so long,” said Taft Brock, senior.

With Mrs. Moenning back, the social studies department has regained one of its strongest teaching assets. The students are ready to see the benefits that Moenning brings to the table heading into finals time at Leesville Road High School.
