The LRHS Dance Team is an important part of Leesville culture, performing at both home football and basketball games. They provide numerous opportunities for the younger members of the Leesville community to experience the Dance Team, most often in the form of clinics.
The team’s next clinic is on January 24th, 2025, at 5 p.m. The clinic includes instruction from the team members, a t-shirt, and pizza. The highlight is the opportunity to perform with the team at the Varsity men’s basketball game against Sanderson. Sign-up11 information can be found here.
“The clinics are so fun because a lot of time you know the kids before… and you see them come back and how much they love it,” said Lacie Holman, junior. Holman has been a part of the LRHS Dance Team since the beginning of her sophomore year.
The clinics are open to all interested K-8 graders in the Leesville community, and lots of kids who attend one will come back year after year.
The clinics are not only a wonderful opportunity for elementary and middle schoolers to experience the Dance Team, but a chance for the members of the team to practice their teaching skills.
“We rotate through and teach them different styles of dance. A lot of times we teach them pom which is what we do for dance team, or we’ll do hip-hop or contemporary,” said Holman.
The Dance Team clinics are a great way to connect kids with the LRHS community. Interested K-8th graders can register for the clinic here, and others can show out to watch at the Leesville vs. Sanderson basketball game on January 24th, 2025, in the LRHS gymnasium.
