Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic “Prince of Darkness,” is set to take the stage for his final performance on July 5, 2025, at Villa Park in Birmingham, England.
This landmark event, titled “Back to the Beginning,” will reunite the original Black Sabbath lineup—Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward—for the first time in two decades.
The concert promises to be a monumental celebration of heavy metal, featuring an impressive roster of supporting acts, including Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gojira, Alice in Chains, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Mastodon, and more. Renowned musician Tom Morello will serve as the event’s musical director, ensuring a memorable experience for all attendees.
Osbourne, 76, has been candid about his ongoing battle with Parkinson’s disease, which has significantly impacted his mobility. Despite these challenges, his determination to perform remains unwavering. His wife, Sharon Osbourne, noted, “Ozzy didn’t have a chance to say goodbye to his friends, to his fans, and he feels there’s been no full stop.”
Reflecting on his storied career, Osbourne expressed deep gratitude: “It’s my time to go Back to the Beginning… time for me to give back to the place where I was born. How blessed am I to do it with the help of people whom I love. Birmingham is the true home of metal. Birmingham Forever.”
Tickets for this historic event will be available starting February 14. Proceeds from the concert will benefit Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorns Children’s Hospice, underscoring the band’s commitment to giving back to their community.
As the heavy metal community prepares to bid farewell to one of its most influential figures, “Back to the Beginning” is poised to be a fitting tribute to Ozzy Osbourne’s enduring legacy and the indelible mark he has left on the genre.
