Spring break this year takes place from March 29 to April 6. During spring break, students get to take a break off from school in between the 3rd and 4th quarter.
Over this break, students typically will go on a trip or they will stay home. For this spring break, what are students doing, and how do students prefer to spend their break: a staycation or a vacation?
Some students prefer to spend their spring break away from home at a new place they have never been to.
Evan Brow, sophomore, said, “I’m staying home over spring break, but I would prefer to go somewhere… I would like to go to the beach. Going somewhere is better because you get a new experience and get to be doing something instead of being bored at home.”
Going away over break also gives students a break from everyday responsibilities they would have if they were home.
“I am going to the beach with my friends over break… If I was to stay home, I would probably be working and catching up on school work, and I don’t want to spend my break doing that,” said Torin Crisson, senior.
On the contrary, some students would like to spend their breaks at home, resting and relaxing.
Amanda Waldrop, junior, said, “Over the break, me and my family are going to Cancun. I would prefer to stay home though. I have had so much schoolwork and stress, I would just like to stay home and catch up on sleep and rest.”
