Elite Gold Collection, a beautiful tribute the the best players in soccer; thanks to the 2014 World Cup, Nike has made almost all of their shoes in a Brazil color style. These are just  a few things Nike had planned for the upcoming season.

However, the What the… LeBron and KD, arguably the craziest What The… Nike has ever released, will cause the most buzz amongst sneakerheads this summer. The What the.. LeBron was scheduled to drop May 31, but for some reason Nike has scrapped it from the release calendar. The What the.. KD was rescheduled for June 14, but it’s still unknown when the LeBron will drop. We can only hope for the release to be rescheduled, or if Nike decides to randomly release them one night, as they like to do so much, we’ll be ready.

It will also be a big summer for Air Jordan. They have already released the Air Jordan Carmine 6, and in honor of the World Cup the will drop the Air Jordan Brazil 6. It’s unsure what exactly Air Jordan has planned for the rest of the summer, but — as they have announced they will not release any retros after 2015 — likely they will release several OG colorways on top of the few they already have planned.

And finally, the Foams. Nike is desperately trying to revive the Foamposite, as it just doesn’t have the same market share for Nike as it did in the early 2000s. Recent releases like the Yeezy Foams or even the Oregon Duck Foams back in December show proof of life in the Foam department, but the Concord Foams and Elephant Print Foams that are planned to be released this Summer just goes to show that Nike is trying too hard to bring the Foam back to its original glory. The best way for Nike to jump-start the Foamposite line is to return to the basic colors and re-release a few OG colorways. The one Foamposite everyone can look forwards to this summer is the Knicks Foam. Simple colors, nothing crazy, the way it should be.

It’s unclear what other brands like Reebok or Saucony are doing, and with Adidas pushing Pharrell and Kanye’s lines to next summer, its unclear what they are doing as well. So let’s hope they are planning something big that will rival Nike on some level.
